Farewell to Manzanar

What do you need think they were thinking?

Jeanne recalls that during the bus trip to Manzanar Japanese kept the shades down until they arrived. How are drawn shades reflection of the emotions the people were experiencing? What do you think they were thinking and feeling at the time?

I believe the shades were drawn in fear and humiliation.... to be relocated in such a way..... to be innocent and treated like criminals.
