why do you suppose the poem made Mrs. Phelps cry? what was Mrs. Bowles reaction? mildreds?

Mrs. Phelps couldn't even understand why she was crying. We can infer that somehow the poem "Dove Beach" made her think of her husband who was away fighting (she was unconcerned earlier), maybe the poem had the power move her....... words often do.

Mrs. Bowles was angry with Montag for bringing the book out, Mrs. Phelp's tears and the book in general. She believed Montag was a troublemaker.
