The salamander, describing the fire truck, is something that in mythology could survive through fire. The “salamander” is feared because it contains the kerosene which will burn your house and cause fire.

The phoenix is a mythological creature that is consumed by fire only to rise from its own ashes in a cycle that it repeats eternally.
