Millie is consumed by her "walls" and living the lives of others, whom she has come to consider family. While Montag is bust contemplating life, she sits idly by uninterested in the world around her. Montag desires knowledge and ties to the past; Millie only has interest in the moment. They have nothing ni common, sleep in separate beds, and have no commonalities on which to base a conversation.
