What are some symbolic/significant things in Guy Montag's house?

Why are they symbolic?

The hearth, or fireplace, is a traditional symbol of the home although Montag's house is not a home; it is an isolating place. The parlour or T.V room represents the vacuous isolation Mildred prefers to live with. This is how the state wants society to be.
