Censorship: Consider censorship on social media.

[Firemen] were given a new job, as custodians of our peace of mind, the focus of our understandable and rightful dread of being inferior; official censors, judges, and executors.

Government Control: The censoring of religion and the Bible.

“If you don’t want a house built, hide the nails and wood. If you don’t want a man unhappy politically, don’t give him two sides to worry him; give him one. Better yet, give him none.” (Bradbury 93).

'Consider the lilies of the field, shut up, shut up.'

Lack of Individuality: No self expression, no questioning of life, curiosity is frowned upon.

“Had he ever seen a fireman that didn’t have black hair, black brows, a fiery face, and a blue-steel shaved but unshaved look? These men were all mirror images of himself!” (pg 30).
