I believe it is on page 39-42 in the book, What lie did Captain Beatty tell Montag?

I understand what is going on but I can't find the answer to this some one please help me and put your evidnce on where you found your answer.

Beatty lied to Montag when questioned about the history of firefighters. When Montag asks him point blank if firemen once prevented fires, Beatty shows him the history shown in their rulebook; "Established, 1790, to burn English-influenced books in the Colonies. First Fireman: Benjamin Franklin."
