How have the firemen changed history to suit their own ideas? And why did they choose Benjamin Franklin

Real history is rare, as recorded history is sought out and destroyed. Firemen no longer put out fires, it's their job to start them. Franklin founded the first fire company in Philadelphia, instead of portraying him as a man who worked to protect the home and businesses in Philly, they make him out to be the proponent of book burning in the colonies. Respect for Franklin as one of history's great men would give credence to their lies.
