Granger says, "were going to build a mirror factory first and put out nothing but mirrors for the next year and take a long look at them." what does he mean by this?

This passage notes that Granger is aware of the fact that the literature they've stored in their minds will force people to recognize and think about themselves. The mirror factory (knowledge) will provide the self-awareness and wisdom needed to rebuild.
