Montag's mind is moving too quickly. He has so manyhave be questions about things that have been brought to mind.... Clarisse's questions, the fire at the old woman's house, the book he stole from the fire. All of these things caused Montag to question his own life..... and part of those questions related directly to marriage and love. As a result of these musings, Montag finds himself unable to recall how and where they met. He asks Millie if she remembers, but she doesn't, and is not bothered by it. Montag is overcome with thoughts of his loveless, lifeless marriage and the modern technologies his wife spends her days immersed in.
