I am guessing that this is supposed to be an argumentative topic; by definition classic literature has already stood the test of time and has relevance in our own time for many reasons. The most important is universality: the idea that the theme is applicable to all people in all places at all times. Fahrenheit 451 obviously seems dated to us because it was describing things that have now come true. However, much of what Beatty questions and much of what we learn about people and their thirst for power, their desire to control others, and their wish to impose their ideas on others shows that some things have not changed.
