Fahrenheit 451

Beatty said “Forget them. Burn them all. Fire is bright and fire is clean.” What does he mean by this? Who does he think we should forget and why? Why is fire “clean”?

I need this for english and i dont understand it

What Beatty means in this statement is that the burning of the dead, like the burning of books, erases the past. This erasure allows for the rewriting of history.... and subsequently is another form of mind control.
