how does repressing passion lead to ethan's downfall?
This is a very sad book. This book is based in New England in winter. It is written in the third person style. Ethan Frome is a person trapped in a situation of his own creation. He is trapped in a loveless marriage to Zeena. And with the women he once loved, Mattie, who has been crippled in a sledding accident that injuried Ethan as well. Ethan and Mattie, attempt to kill themselves by sledding into a tree. The attempt failed, and left them crippled for life and condemned to Zeena's care. I would recommend this book. It deals with frustration, loneliness, and moral responsibility.
