describe and evaulate social support for enrique?

I think one of the running themes in this novel was the decided lack of support systems in place for Enrique and people like him. Whether in Honduras, Mexico or the United States, Enrique was largely alone to navigate his future. He meets people along the way but many are not looking out for his interests. Enrique often turns to drugs and alcohol to numb his emotional pain.
