What is the character of Harriet and Jane in the play?

Harriet is a nice girl of questionable background. Unfortunately, Emma gives her some awful advice on how to comport herself, and she get a little too bog for her britches. Harriet doesn't have the family name she needs to marry as she chooses, and Emma's advice causes her to be pretencious.... looking higher than she should.

Jane is sweet, well mannered, and considered quite charming. In fact, Emma is a bit jealous of her.
