Two motifs in romantic poetry are the imagination and the supernatural. Both are abundant in this poem. We see Death personified as a character (grim reaper) to carry the woman away. Imagination is shown through Death driving a coach. There are also elements of the natural world, another staple of romantic poetry, throughout the poem.
