How is the Catholic Church represented in "Ivy Day in the Commitee Room"?

Joyce was very anti-Catholic because he felt the church was holding Ireland back from being in step with the rest of the developing world. The church, from Joyce's view, often took the best and brightest into its "nest" rather than letting bright, intellectual people serve the secular world.
