at the end of Araby, why does the narrator say his eyes" burned with anguish and anger"?

His uncle has forgotten about him and the woman at the bazaar stares at him like she doesn't welcome either him or his business......... anguish and anger symbolize tears. the narrator is frustrated and alone.
