He went to see Dr. Hastie Lanyon, who was an old friend of Dr. Jekyll's. Dr. Lanyon said he had not seen Dr. Jekyll for about ten years, because Dr. Jekyll had some strange and unscientific ideas with which Dr. Lanyon disagreed. Dr. Lanyon had never heard of Mr.
Hyde.
