The figurative language used to describe the trampling of the child is an oxymoron. No one calmly "tramples." Thus, the oxymoron. 


Dr. Jekyll and Mr. Hyde

He describes Mr Hyde as trampling over the child calmly which is fairly strange for someone to do which is linked to Mr Hyde's character.
