HELP ASAP!!!!!

i'm really stuck on my essay for this novel so can anyone please help me. the question is "how does the writer attempt to show the hypocrisy of victorian society through the use of duality in jekyll and hdye?", please help, i've lost my notes and i don't even know what hypocrisy means :(
