Doctor Faustus (Marlowe)

Dr. Faustus centers on the quest for power, do you agree?

In what way the Novel centered on the search for power?

Faustus' main motivation in his deal with the devil is the aquisition of power. Unfortunately, to gain that power handing his soul over to the devil is a double edged sword. In reality he gains nothing. His desire to rule men and all of creation is impossible, only God has that power. But both Fautus and Pope Adrian make the mistake of believing it can be theirs, forgetting that Lucifer ended up in hell for the same reason. The devil ultimately has nothing to offer except that they share in his fate.
