how far would you agree with the view that the note of sadness colours the pictures of youth and beauty painted ?

I don't share the view that this poem is tinged with sadness. The only sadness I hear in Herrick's words is the sadness that accompanies an unfulfilled life, and in this case the source of unfulfillment would be the lack of a family (marriage and children).
