what is the result of willy's conversation with howard?

Willy is desperate to get a non-travelling sales job. Linda is pressuring him to stay home more often. Howard isn't impressed with Willy's performance. He ignores Willy and belittles him referring to Willy as a "kid." Willy reduces himself to asking for a lower wage. He rattles on about Dave Singleman, a salesman who never left his hotel room, yet was successful. THe whole scene is humiliating for Willy, largely from his own doing.
