Willy tells Linda he'd like to purchase some seeds and plant a garden in their backyard. This is significant in that Miller is showing us Willy wants to become a part of the world again and do something meaningful, tangible. The thought of a thriving garden might also be seen as a metaphor for his boys...... all grown up and hoping to thrive.
