There is a new sense of excitement in the valley concerning the new developments. Kumalo compares the new teacher, Napoleon Letsitsi, to his more famous namesake. Kumalo credits him with many of the improvements in the region. There is more water from the dam leading to more healthy cows and less dependence for milk (from the white man). Irrigation is better sand fresh water is more plentiful.
