portentious: self-consciously weighty; pompous
prodigality: lavishness; reckless luxury
provincial: limited; narrow; unsophisticated
punctilious: characterized by extreme attention to detail
redolent: aromatic; scented; suggestive of
strident: commanding attention with volume or obtrusiveness
supercilious: contemptuous
turgid: swollen; bombastic in style
