Thoreau says "under a government which imprisons any unjustly , the true place for a just man is also a prision," what is he saying?

Thoreau is saying that an honest man's place is in jail when the government is corrupt. Honest men must stand up for truth. Unfortunately, they must pay a price for their honesty when the government they stand against is wrong.
