Chronicle of a Death Foretold

When I read the book, it mentioned trees, what do the trees have to do with the omen?

Trees represent ideas and conflicts in Santiago's life. Consider his vision of the almond tree,

"in a tinfoil airplane and flying through the almond trees without bumping into anything”

Almond trees flower in February so this would meen joy, love, and re-birth.
