An Advent Carol

I would like to have my church choir sing Ellen Voth's choral setting of this poem. The title is probably the composer's, but I am interested in some interpretations of this poem. Although it is beautiful, I won't feel comfortable presenting it to my choir until I have a better grasp of the meaning of each line.
