How do they heal their wounds?

Katniss, Peeta and Finnick crawl to the beach. Katniss sticks her hand in the water and the searing pain of the salt hitting her wounds abates after some time, leaching the poison out of her. She and Peeta submerge themselves to heal. They slowly introduce the water to Finnick until they can get his body into it inches at a time.
