Women’s intuition
Although Agatha Christie is a woman, she very often mocks some women’s feelings and features which differ from men’s in the novel. She shows how women can be too emotional, that they would rather rely on fear than on logic. Mostly often it is represented by Mrs. Oliver, who is a strong feminist but a little bit too much that it becomes even ridiculous.
Human naivety
The novel shows that human naivety makes a benefit only for a child. The author proves that to be too naive is to let anybody an opportunity outwit and rob you. Due to the example of the characters in the novel, we can see that everybody has a choice to believe or to check all the information and to be cautious.
Unselfish sincerity
The author shows that unselfish sincerity and assistance are elements of a myth; people do everything for their profit. For example we can take the situation when Mr. Despard came to Mrs. Meredith and told that he would like to help her and could offer a lawyer for her. However, the truth is that with the help of this lawyer, who is his acquaintance, he wanted to find some private information about her, some criminal unknown past and in this way shield himself and take off all the charges.
