Does Cardboard Deal With The 5 Stages of Grief?

Now, as we know, Mike suffers from grief. This started all because Carol died. This caused him to look back on the past rather than move forward. So, does Cardboard deal with the 5 Stanges of of Grief (with consist of Denial, Anger, Bargaining, Depression, and Acceptance)?

The nove does not necessarily deal with the five stages of grief, but if we look closely enough, it does parallel the stages. At first, Can is in denial about the cardboard's magical properties, Marcus' character parallels the anger, and Cam and Marcus both deal with forms of depression. Lastly, over time, Cam comes to accept the cardboard's magic and use it for good. I'm not sure I see anything that connects to bargaining.
