Many of the classroom activities in this lesson plan incorporate technology, especially as a means of presenting students with multimedia interpretations of Cane. Activities on Days 2, 3, and 4 require the use of computers to display visual art and a mixed-media dance performance. Many optional activities suggest the use of the internet for research into Jean Toomer's background, African-American history, and music. It is also recommended that word processors be provided to students for ease of writing and editing during classroom activities.
