What is the incident at Circle City, and how does it affect Buck’s reputation?

While in Circle City, Thornton steps in to stop a fight between Black Burton and a young, inexperience "tenderfoot". When Burton hits Thornton and knocks him to the ground, Buck immmediately attacks the man. Burton is able to fend Buck off a few time, but in the end, Buck rips out the man's throat.

It gives buck the reputation that nobody should mess with him.

Buck's reputation is suddenly very good and I think it would be fun to get your throat ripped out.
