Spitz is the pack's alpha dog. He is controlling, wily, and strong. Buck is a threat to Spitz's position in the pack, as there cannot be two leaders. The two dogs will eventually fight for leadership of the team and one will likely die. The above comment infers that Spitz will likely be the one to kill Buck.
