Buck lives in the home of Judge Miller in Santa Clara Valley. The house is large and spacious, and the grounds are beautifully laid out with orchards and gardens. Buck is pampered and provided with every comfort. Buck roams the sprawling finely manicured lawns. The setting is the opposite of what he must soon contend with in the wild Yukon.
