That would depend upon on how you define the consumption of knowledge. In today's world, people often look up an answer on the internet, take it at face value, and fail to check their sources..... call it fast food research. Thus, I'd have to partially agree with your statement. Knowledge is too often taken in, spit out, and nothing is retained.
