Bridget Jones's Diary

Is the movie however centered around toxic relationship?

I wonder if there's ever a good possibility of the movie being about toxic relationship, concerning how Bridget gets to choose which man to be with.

I think the idea of love often includes toxic relationships. The theme of love is a major element of this narrative. All characters of this female novel are searching for this magic feeling, trying to keep it in spite of different kinds of obstacles in their life. Bridget in her handwritings always reminds about such an abstract phenomenon, either desiring this or denying its importance in human existence. She always asks herself questions like the following: "What about me? Me? Why doesn't anyone love me?." But the end of the story leaves hope that she will finally achieve the goal to love and be loved. According to Helen Fielding love also can hurt (for instance, situations of cheating on somebody). Unfortunately, such "disastrous" occasions happened not so rarely in characters' lives (Jude and Richard, Daniel and Bridget, Mr. and Mrs. Jones), but some of them have such a strong persistance that are able to forgive their partners' mistakes.
