Mustapha- defending the status-quo. Old ideas/wisdom have no meaning, they create instability.
Helmholtz- He tries to test Mustafa's ideas.
John- Hates this civilization of disposable love, sex, things....
Bernard- Still entrenched in society. He is not as rebellious as the other two when it comes to punishment.
