Why does Pecola say that she wants blue eyes? What is it that she really wants? And what is it that she needs to attain it?

Pecola wants blue eyes because she sees them as everyone's ideal of beauty. What she really wants is to be looked at.... to be seen by the peple around her. To attain this, Pecola needs to find and see herself.
