Newspaper serialization of the chapters of Bleak House
The text of Bleak House was originally divided into nineteen three- and four-chapter monthly serial sections for publication in newpapers from March 1852 to September 1853, with the last section being a double issue. The Summary and Analysis in this ClassicNote has adhered to this original division, which is how the first readers of Bleak House experienced the novel.
