Beowulf is steeped in a pagan tradition that depicts nature as hostile and forces of death as uncontrollable. Blind fate picks random victims; man is never reconciled with the world. Beowulf is a failure

well, that is the topic I have to write about, but I really don't know what the thesis for that could be.

I would definitely disagree. You can work with the pagan traditions and uncontrollable forces............. fate definitely, but I'm not sure what you're teacher is referring to with man's reconciliation with the world. What have you discussed in class?
