In general, the plot consistently adheres to the major unities of time, character and place. The story is laid out over only a few days and moves quickly from transport to rebellion. The setting (time) is only stretched out by the trial (deposition), which provides the reader with crucial information about the rebellion itself and the location (even in the depositions flashback) takes place entirely at sea. Because of the way the story is constructed, it is tightly unified in spite of the flashback found in the deposition.
