Interest in Pre-Law

What led you to choose the area(s) of academic interest that you have listed in your application to the University of Michigan? If you are undecided, what areas are you most interested in, and why?

Unlike most students, I enjoy both writing essays and reading about the amazingly broad history of the world. I believe that an education in the area of Pre-Law will fulfill my desire to learn more about the English language and history, as well as prepare me for law school after I graduate. I have challenged myself with many honors and AP courses in these two subjects throughout my high school years, and I am eager to continue my education in these areas in college.

Also, strong writing skills and deep understanding of history will be assets in my future career as a lawyer and, eventually, politician. I know that by taking advantage of the University of Michigan’s excellent educational opportunities in both English and history, I will be very well prepared to achieve these goals.
