Faust says, “I now do see that we can nothing know.” For a Christian living a life dedicated to Christ, these sorts of truths are profoundly true. However, for the freshman university student who proudly proclaims them without having lived them out, it is boring and even untrue. Truth cannot be abstracted from a lived life.
