The first disciple offers to follow Jesus without waiting to be called and Jesus reminds him that he has no idea what he is doing. The second disciple is the one that wants to bury his father and Bonhoeffer says he is still in bondage to the law. The third disciple is the one who wanted to bid farewell to the people at his house and Bonhoeffer says this is just another way for him to articulate his own terms. In the latter two cases the difference is that Christ is not the absolute authority whereas he was in the first case.
