Why one does must have an understanding of both body and soul in order to understand the self and the divine according to the poem "The Ecstasy" by John Donne?

As I understand it, Donne describes how the souls separate from their bodies during the moment of reckless passion and ecstasy. Dunn describes the creation of a third lover, an entity that allows the lovers to communicate with the divine.
