: Wide Sargasso Sea has two fires- one in the first section and one in the last. How are these fires related?

The fires are both directly related to madness (insanity) and slavery (real and perceived). In the first section, the slaves start a fire to voice their feelings of anger and discontent to Mason. Antoinette's dream is much the same...... burning Thornfield Hall would rid her of her own feelings of anger, discontent, and feelings of bondage..... to her husband.
