What I Can Contribute To BU

My open-mindedness, good sense of humor and diverse talents give me much to contribute to Boston University.

First, I am an open-minded person. I always have been courteous to people regardless of their backgrounds and personalities, and accepted their differences. Also, through many travels and living in England, Australia, and now in America, I gained a broad view toward different cultures and the world. This personal trait always benefited me in various ways, such as getting accustomed to foreign cultures, foods, and learning languages, and eventually helped me to get used to unfamiliar or uncomfortable aspects of American life. For example, homosexuality is an acceptable issue in America but can be a quite unbearable idea to certain people who are either Catholic or from countries where it is almost considered a sin. Unfortunately, I am both Catholic and from one of the countries. However, I have never had a problem with it; although I was initially shocked to learn that two of my neighbors were gay, I kept friendship with them anyway until the day I moved.
